Hello seventh and eighth graders,
It is Monday night and both Joey and I are running fevers. Given the high likely-hood that I will not be in tomorrow, I am posting class assignments on the website. I hope to be there tomorrow but please post any questions or comments to the blogs if you have them. I will check from home periodically.

————–
- Review the Exam Outline that is posted on the website. If you have any questions, post them to the blog.
- In the groups I assign, complete Topic Review Word Doc.
- In the same groups, post a short blurb (about 5 sentences) to the EXAM SUMMARIES post on my website. Your post should include a short summary of concepts, key terms, BFFs, and any applications for the information.
- Check GradeSpeed to make sure that all of your grades are in order. Do not post grade issues to the blogs, email me at ckremer@sles-sa.org
- Write sample test questions and post them to the blog.

READ THE DIRECTIONS FROM THE SUB-PLAN Post.
Post your exam summaries here after completing the Topic Review Handout. If your group finishes early, post sample questions related to your topic.
DO NOT PRINT OUT REVIEWS FOR EACH CLASSMATE. THEY CAN LOOK AT YOUR SUMMARY ONLINE AND IT IS A WASTE OF PAPER.

8th Graders,
Here is your exam outline. We will be reviewing in class Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. If you have any questions over the weekend, post them here and I will do my best to answer them. Most likely, Catherine will answer the question before I can check the website!

8th Grade Parents,
The year is coming to end, and your children are transitioning to high school life. At St. Luke’s we strive to send all of our students to high school ready for all of the challenges they will face. Some of those demands are academic in nature while others or social and emotional. One extremely important challenge that many high school students are confronted with is the peer pressure to engage in risk-taking behavior. We feel it is extremely important to prepare our students for post St. Luke’s life by educating them about their bodies. It is vital that all students leaving St. Luke’s have an age-appropriate understanding of their bodies and the risks of sexual activity.
On Wednesday, May 20th, the eighth grade students will be meeting in small groups to discuss sexual anatomy, personal hygiene, sexual outcomes, and Sexually Transmitted Infections. The 8th grade girls will meet with Dr. Catherine Spezia and Cindy Cabello in the youth room. The 8th grade boys will boys will meet with Dr. Michael Lindner and Chuck Kremer in the science classroom. We believe that the most important message for our students to hear while leaving St. Luke’s is that their bodies are a gift from God that should be respected and that abstinence is the only way to completely protect your body.
As always, please contact me with any questions or concerns.

8th Grade Parents,

I created a photobucket album of some DC pics so that you can see what is going on while it happens. I am not the most diligent picture taker so they may be slow coming. Tomorrow I will also try to upload some of the pics that the students take, but we didn’t make it in to the hotel until 10 p.m. so I am too tired to hunt down cameras.

Students and Teachers,
Thank you for the pretty banner and the puppy. I am feeling much better and very much like looking at the Get Well Soon message hanging in my room while getting a snuggle from my newest buddy.
