The eighth graders will be visiting the Biodynamic Research Corporation to view an airbag deployment on December 4th. This will be an exciting way to demonstrate the concepts of force, energy, and momentum. (Thank you for the connection, Mr. Prichard)

Each group picks a different room from the physics house. Comment to this post with a paragraph that describes all of the types of energy that you would find in that room.

8th Graders,
We have been going over a very important concept in physics lately. THE CONSERVATION OF MOMENTUM
First, visit the website that will show you the difference between elastic & inelastic collisions.
Next, use this website to understand the Conservation of Momentum in two dimensions. Think about how the angle of a collision affects how the objects move in pool.
We will be conducting a virtual lab during the long block You can fiddle with it earlier if you would like to. Answer the lab questions for a homework grade and then report one interesting thing you learned in the comments section of this post. Be sure to use correct grammar.
